Real 2026 prices across every category — from an in-town guesthouse at a few hundred baht to a beachfront resort at several thousand, market food to pier seafood. Three daily budgets, the train-vs-van-vs-drive cost, plus full 2D1N and 3D2N examples. The beach trip that's cheaper than the islands, because there's no flight.
The first question everyone asks before Hua Hin is "will it be expensive?" The honest answer is that it is cheaper than you'd think, and more flexible than any other beach in Thailand — because Hua Hin is the closest sea to Bangkok. You can drive, take a van or catch the train for a few hundred baht, with no plane ticket and no inter-island ferry the way Phuket or Samui demand. That alone removes the single biggest cost of a beach holiday. In town you eat fresh pier seafood for ฿200–400 a head, or pay several thousand at a beachfront resort restaurant. The city genuinely works at every level.
What makes the Hua Hin budget swing is mostly accommodation and season. The cool months (Nov–Feb) are Hua Hin's peak — Bangkokians pour down to escape the heat and the haze, hotel rates climb and rooms fill fast, especially over long weekends like New Year and Songkran. Local transport, market meals and the beach itself (free) stay cheap all year. Another bonus: Hua Hin is one of Thailand's driest beaches — when Phuket and Krabi are getting rained out (May–Oct), Hua Hin usually keeps its sun, with serious rain limited to roughly September and October.
All prices on this page are compiled from typical current 2026 rates and are planning ranges, not guarantees. They shift with season — the cool months and long weekends see the sharpest climbs. To see how Hua Hin compares with the Andaman coast, read the Thailand islands and beaches guide.

Markets, the pier seafood restaurants, songthaews and small shops mostly take cash. Keep small notes for the markets and songthaews. ATMs are all over town and in the malls.
Cafés, restaurants and mall shops increasingly take QR scan-to-pay (PromptPay), which is very handy if you bank in Thailand. Overseas visitors should still carry cash for markets and street stalls.
Accepted at hotels, resorts, malls and better restaurants, but street stalls and markets usually take cash only. Don't rely on cards alone — keep cash for that great pier meal.
