We open with the international brand that opened brand-new — Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Window of Canton by IHG opened on 18 August 2025 and won IHG's 'Best Newly Opened Hotel' award on opening. We rank it first because it's genuinely new (a new building, new-generation WorkLife rooms, nothing worn in) yet it already has over 1,466 real reviews and scores 9.5/10 — enough to read consistency, not a new opening with only a handful of ratings. It sits on the Haizhu side by the Pearl River with 294 rooms; reviewers praise the cleanliness (9.6), the spacious fresh rooms, the high-floor river views and the attentive staff. Atour Light is Atour's design line aimed at a younger crowd, on a 'Light Social, Light Life' concept, with fresh Aqua Blue-styled rooms. We rank it second because it genuinely opened in 2024, has the highest score, has enough reviews, and is the best value on the list at ¥350 (฿1,750). Reviewers praise the clean, stylish rooms, the friendly staff and the value. The honest caveat: it's on the south Panyu side, in the Wanbo / Chimelong area — superb if you're visiting the Chimelong resort (theme park / safari), but a longer Metro ride into the Tianhe CBD or the Pazhou Fair than anything else here, and it doesn't yet have its own review page on our site.

Third is a Swissôtel five-star that opened under its new name on 1 March 2025 — and, to be honest with you, this isn't an all-new building. It's an existing property (formerly Hotel Nikko Guangzhou) that Accor took over and reopened as Swissôtel Guangzhou, with a rebrand and a refresh of the rooms and service. It scores 9.4/10 from over 1,249 real reviews. We include it because opening as Swissôtel is a clearly datable event (March 2025) and a genuinely new brand for the city — but we want you to know the building itself is the old one, not freshly built like the two above. It has 364 modern Oriental-style rooms; reviewers praise the spacious clean rooms, the friendly staff, the breakfast and dinner buffets, and the fun kids' themed rooms (Space / Sports). The honest caveat: it's on the Tianhe Smart City / software-park side, fairly far from the Zhujiang New Town CBD and the Pazhou complex (a hotel shuttle helps), and it doesn't yet have its own review page on our site.

We close with a fresh design midscale in the heart of the shopping core — Atour Light Taikoo Hui Zhengjia opened in November 2024 and scores 9.0/10. It's another branch of Atour's Light design line, with fresh, minimalist rooms, set in the heart of the Tianhe commercial district by the Taikoo Hui mall, Zhengjia Plaza and TeeMall, so shopping and food are at the door. We rank it fourth because it genuinely opened in 2024 and has a usable, central location — but to be honest, it still has only ~109 reviews (far fewer than the three above, because it's so new); 9.0 is a good score, but the review base is still thin, so it remains to be seen whether it settles there.
