TSMC · ASML · MediaTek · Realtek — over 500 tech companies, 100,000+ engineers, and the world's most important semiconductor cluster. Everything you need to know before your next business trip.
If your work touches semiconductors, electronics, AI hardware, or supply chain, almost every road eventually leads to Hsinchu. Eighty kilometers south of Taipei, this unassuming city of 450,000 residents punches far above its weight: the Hsinchu Science-Based Industrial Park (HSIP), established in 1980 on the model of Silicon Valley, now hosts more than 500 high-tech companies — among them TSMC, MediaTek, UMC, ASML Taiwan, Realtek, and Himax — employing over 100,000 engineers and researchers. Understanding how to get here, where to sleep, and how to navigate the local business culture makes the difference between a trip that clicks and one that merely fills a diary.
Always confirm the specific building and gate with your host before arrival — large campuses like TSMC have multiple entry points and visitor pass requirements.

Reviewed and ranked by location, meeting facilities, and practical value for the business traveler — whether your day is at the Science Park or in downtown Hsinchu.
5-Star · Marriott
9.0
The default choice for road warriors — Hsinchu's most recognizable twin-tower landmark, a 5-minute taxi from the HSR station with full Marriott Bonvoy points accrual, an executive Club floor, and a serious restaurant for post-meeting dinners.
4+ Star · Hyatt
9.1
Highest-rated hotel in Hsinchu (9.1) — Taiwan's first Hyatt property, with contemporary design, English-proficient staff, and a location just minutes from the freeway exit to Science Park. The spacious lobby is excellent for pre-meeting work sessions.
5-Star · City Center
9.0
The corporate event venue of choice for major Taiwanese firms — expansive banquet and meeting rooms capable of hosting seminars, formal team dinners, and large client receptions, with an in-house Chinese restaurant built for relationship-building over a proper meal.
5-Star · Established
9.0
A trusted name across corporate Taiwan for decades — experienced staff, reliable service, and solid F&B at slightly more competitive rates than comparable 5-star neighbors. Ideal if your organization books on fixed corporate rates and values consistency over flash.
5-Star · Park Shuttle
8.9
The standout feature: a complimentary shuttle to Science Park for hotel guests. If your schedule involves multiple daily trips between the hotel and the Park, this practical perk more than justifies the choice — especially combined with the Business Floor executive lounge.

Mr. Brown Cafe at HSR Station opens early for pre-meeting catch-ups. Cama Cafe near the Park is quiet and laptop-friendly. The EPISODE Hyatt lobby is the city's best semi-open co-working spot. Every 7-Eleven has seating and free Wi-Fi.
Hsinchu is famous for its thin rice vermicelli (新竹米粉 — Hsinchu mǐfěn) — the local staple you'll be expected to try if your host takes you to a traditional meal. Also worth noting: Beipu village, 30 minutes away, is the home of Hakka lei cha (thunder tea rice).
Five-star hotel breakfast rooms open at 06:30. Outside, Taiwanese breakfast shops (早餐店) open by 06:00 serving soy milk, you tiao, and egg crepes for NT$60–100 — fast and cheap if your host hasn't arranged morning catering.
Hsinchu's corporate entertainment skews more toward relaxed dinners than the karaoke-heavy scenes of Taipei. Hotel bars are the standard for post-meeting drinks. If a host suggests KTV, treat it as a genuine relationship-building gesture and participate warmly.
