In this group, the one in central Guilin is the <strong>Atour Hotel by Elephant Trunk Hill & the Sun-and-Moon Pagodas (日月双塔)</strong>, which opened in 2024 · it's a four-star design hotel on Zhongshan Middle Road in Xiangshan district, an easy walk to Elephant Trunk Hill and the Sun-and-Moon Pagodas, scoring 9.6 from over 2,171 reviews (the most of the new openings) · the other two (the Hilton Garden Inn and XIYUE) are at Yangshuo / Xingping, ~65–80km from central Guilin, better suited to staying on the Li River than sightseeing the city · note that Atour has several branches in Guilin, so check the branch name when you book.

Interesting, but read the whole picture — <strong>XIYUE·HOTEL's 9.6 is genuinely high, but it comes from few reviews so far (~283) because it only opened in July 2025</strong> · a newly-opened hotel often scores high early on because everything is still new and the review count is small, so the consistency isn't as clear yet as it is for properties with a thousand-plus reviews (like the Atour 9.6 / ~2,171 or the Hilton Garden Inn 9.4 / ~2,531, whose scores are steadier off a bigger base) · if you book XIYUE, read a page or two of the latest reviews to see whether there are early-opening issues, and confirm services / foreign-passport check-in with the hotel first, since it's a small stay.

<strong>Guilin has no metro</strong> — in the city, use taxi / DiDi (pay by WeChat / Alipay) · for Yangshuo / Xingping, the high-speed rail to Yangshuo station is easiest (the Hilton Garden Inn is ~8km from the station · XIYUE is ~5 minutes) and then a hotel transfer or taxi into Xingping · or take a bus / taxi from central Guilin in ~1–1.5 hours · Xingping is a small ancient town where taxis are hard to hail late at night, so book a transfer with the hotel ahead, especially with lots of bags · Guilin Liangjiang Airport (KWL) is ~30km from the city, with an airport bus / taxi.
