The signature feature is a Thai restaurant that extends on a wooden pavilion over the water, with a fountain and warm evening lighting that draws diners from around town even if they're not staying. The large outdoor saltwater pool comes with a children's pool, two floodlit tennis courts, a fitness room and a Thai massage suite. The building is over 30 years old and shows its age in places, but the price and location make it the best-value full-facilities resort in Mae Sot.

At night the bridge lights up in arching lines above the water. Guests in river-facing rooms say pulling back the curtains in the morning is the best part of the stay. Rooms are larger than expected for the rate, with a courtyard pool, Rim Ping riverside restaurant (sunset tables fill fast), Thai massage, bicycle loans and free parking. If you're making the trip to Thi Lo Su Waterfall — one of the largest and most dramatic waterfalls in Thailand — Thee Lor Su Riverside is the best-placed base camp on the Mae Klong River, and it organises the entire trip in one package. Teak bungalows of various sizes sit along the riverbank, some raised on stilts above the water with a deck for listening to the current. The most-recalled moment guests describe is waking before sunrise, stepping onto the deck into cool air, and watching mist rise from the river surface before heading out to raft the rapids and reach the falls.
