CS Pattani Hotel — A Five-Star Property at Three-Star Prices, Guests Keep Saying

We came as a family of four and booked the Family Room at around ฿2,400 a night. To answer the obvious question: yes, absolutely worth it — more so than we expected going in. The room is genuinely bigger than the photos suggest. Four beds and still space left over for luggage, a small sofa corner by the window, and a large glass panel that opens onto green treetops in the distance. Morning light fills the room and the southern Thai woven runner across the beds was a nice touch — the whole space felt warm rather than clinical. The bathroom was clean, water pressure strong, and the hot water came through immediately — the kids did not have to take turns waiting. We had three nights, and the room stayed tidy each day without us asking. The pool was what the kids had been waiting for since we confirmed the booking. We got down at half past seven on the first morning and had the main pool almost entirely to ourselves. It is larger and cleaner than what you see in the photos on the booking apps — lane markings visible at the bottom, clear water the whole time we were there. The kids pool sits right alongside it, the right depth for younger children without being too shallow, and the slide kept them busy until nearly midday without any complaint. By mid-morning the pool had more guests but never felt crowded. The lobby genuinely caught us off guard. Walking in for the first time our daughter immediately said it looked like an expensive hotel. Double-height ceiling with a large chandelier-style pendant, a wrought-iron staircase with proper decorative curve work, and warm timber tones throughout. What stood out to us was the display of local southern Thai crafts — niello ware and woven Lipao pieces set out in the lobby like a small exhibition. It gave the place a real sense of where it is, which you do not always get with hotels at this price. Buffet breakfast in the large dining room below the lobby had a solid spread: rice congee, toast and bread, fresh fruit, eggs done to order, and a couple of Thai morning dishes. The kids worked through most of it. Our only note on food: the English breakfast items were thin one morning — mostly bread and a small amount of cold cuts — but the Thai options were fine. The front-desk staff spoke clearly, smiled, and when we mentioned we would like a higher-floor room with a garden view they checked and moved us without any fuss or extra charge. A few things worth knowing before you commit: the hotel is a meaningful distance outside the Pattani town centre, roughly 2.5 kilometres, and it is not walkable. There are no convenience stores or restaurants within easy reach on foot. We drove ourselves so this was not a problem, but guests without a car should budget for Grab or taxi runs into town. The Rusamilae area can be slow for Grab depending on the time of day. The carpet in our room had clearly been there a good while — clean, no smell, but visibly worn in places. The furniture matched that age. It did not affect the stay but it is honest to mention it. None of that changed how we felt about the overall experience. Would we come back? Without question, and we have already said so to people who asked where we stayed. I'd struggle to find anything close to this room size, pool quality, and overall standard at this price anywhere else in Pattani. That is not an exaggeration — it genuinely is the standout option in town for families. Personal score: nine out of ten, and the tenth point is only missing because of the carpet and the out-of-town logistics.
