The Whitley — luxury in the heart of Buckhead for shoppers and business travellers

If you're a shopper or in Atlanta for work and want a luxury hotel that walks straight to the malls, the Whitley is the answer. A Luxury Collection hotel in the heart of Buckhead, Atlanta's upscale shopping and dining district, with elegant classic rooms, direct links to Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, and near the MARTA Buckhead station.

Our Full Review

The hotel sits in the heart of Buckhead, Atlanta's upscale northern district. The highlight is the direct link to Lenox Square and being across from Phipps Plaza, the city's two most upscale malls, surrounded by high-end restaurants and bars, near the MARTA Buckhead station to Midtown/Downtown/airport. The location suits shoppers and business travellers who want upscale convenience.

"Walk straight from the lobby into Lenox Square, then back to an elegant classic room — the Buckhead that business and shopping travellers dream of."

Midtown skyline

Rooms are elegantly finished in Luxury Collection style with classic tones, spacious, with plush beds, marble bathrooms and city views in many. Guests praise the beautiful, calm rooms and high-level service. Overall it's a luxury hotel that feels grown-up and refined rather than flashy.

Amenities are complete — a spa, good fitness, a pool, and quality in-hotel dining/bars (a rooftop with nice city views). Luxury Collection service is attentive. If you like refined luxury near upscale shopping and good restaurants, the Whitley fits well.

Centennial Olympic Park

On value — rates start around $325/night, good for luxury at this level in Buckhead, especially if you're here to shop or do business in the area. Next to the Four Seasons it's cheaper and better-located for shoppers, but if you mainly want Downtown attractions, Buckhead is farther out.

Buckhead, Atlanta

Things to know: Buckhead is in the north, away from Downtown attractions (Aquarium, Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz Stadium) — about 15-20 minutes by MARTA or rideshare — and there's valet parking like most city luxury hotels. The upside: for shopping, everything is walkable. Pick the location to match your plans.

Bottom line: the Whitley is a luxury hotel that's perfect for shoppers and business travellers in Buckhead — linked to upscale malls, good service, good value. If you're here to shop, dine well or work in the area, go for it. If you mainly want Downtown sightseeing, our list has closer options.
