The Boxer Boston — an industrial-chic boutique

Want a warm boutique with character at a friendly price? The Boxer Boston is the answer. A boutique in a 1904 brick building with a warm industrial-chic feel, a walk from the North End and TD Garden. Rooms aren't large but the design is good, and the price is friendly for a central location — great for boutique lovers who don't want to overpay.

Our Full Review

It sits in the West End next to North Station and TD Garden — walkable to the North End (Italian district), Faneuil Hall and Beacon Hill. The North Station stop (Green/Orange Line) is very close, with easy trains across Boston. It's central but quieter than the main tourist areas, ideal for being near the North End and TD Garden.

"An old 1904 brick building turned into a warm, industrial-chic boutique, an 8-minute walk to North End dinner — good value for this location."

North End neighborhood, Boston

The Boxer is in a historic 1904 brick building, renovated to keep its industrial charm — exposed brick and black steel softened by warm wood and soft lighting. Rooms aren't huge but are nicely designed with comfy beds. What guests love is the boutique atmosphere with character at a price lower than many boutiques, plus a walk to the North End.

Freedom Trail, Boston

The highlight is the warm-not-cold industrial-chic design, the good lobby restaurant The Finch, and friendly professional service. It suits couples, solo travellers and business travellers who want a stylish boutique on a mid-range budget.

Honestly, the note is that rooms are small — better for travellers out all day than lounging in-room — and there are no big facilities (no pool, no large gym). Also, the West End, while central, isn't as lively with shops as the North End or Back Bay, so you'll walk out a bit.

Faneuil Hall, Boston

Bottom line: The Boxer Boston is a well-priced boutique with character — a central location near the North End/TD Garden, industrial-chic design. If you like a stylish boutique on a mid-range budget and don't mind a small room, go for it — but for a spacious room or full facilities, look elsewhere.
