Hotel X Toronto — Lakeside resort · rooftop pool · near BMO Field

Want a resort feel in the city with a rooftop pool overlooking the lake? Hotel X Toronto at Exhibition Place is it. The fitness facilities are huge and it's near BMO Field — crucial during World Cup 2026 — ideal for travellers who want to fully unwind within the hotel itself.

Our Full Review

Hotel X Toronto sits at Exhibition Place on the shore of Lake Ontario, west of downtown. It's not bang in the city centre, but you trade that for generous space and lake views you won't find at a typical downtown hotel. Get into the city via the 509 streetcar or Exhibition GO; for events at BMO Field or the convention centre, you can walk over.

The biggest draw here is the facilities — the Ten X Toronto athletic centre has tennis, squash and basketball courts plus full studios, the largest of any city hotel. The 27th-floor rooftop pool opens onto a 360-degree view of the CN Tower and the lake, a hugely popular photo spot.

Exhibition / Lakeshore Toronto

"The 27th-floor rooftop pool opens to a 360-degree CN Tower and lake view — a photo spot that justifies the stay."

Rooms are modern and brightly coloured, many with a balcony facing the lake or skyline, and larger than the city standard — good for families or anyone who wants room to stretch. Honestly, the design can feel a touch busy for minimalist tastes.

Exhibition / Lakeshore Toronto

Built as a resort, it has an in-house cinema, multiple rooftop decks, bars and event spaces — perfect for travellers who want to spend lots of time at the hotel without going anywhere for entertainment.

On value — a starting rate of around CAD 260 (฿7,020) a night is excellent for the facilities you get. If you value a pool, gym and space, it's well worth it. But if you need to walk to downtown, this location means a ride into the city each time.

Exhibition / Lakeshore Toronto

Worth knowing: Exhibition is away from the city's restaurants and nightlife and goes quiet at night. To eat out, plan your transport. The upside is the peace ideal for relaxing — and during the World Cup with matches at BMO Field, staying here is a rare prime location.

In short, Hotel X Toronto is a city resort selling its facilities and lake views. If you want to fully relax, are travelling with family, or are here for football at BMO Field, choose it — great value. If you're focused on walking around downtown, look at a hotel in the centre instead.
