Fairmont Pacific Rim — The city's finest · on Coal Harbour · bay and mountain views

If you're going luxe, do it where you get the full bay-and-mountain view — the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Vancouver's finest hotel on Coal Harbour, where the curtains open onto the North Shore mountains. The Willow Stream spa and award-winning Botanist restaurant, right across from Canada Place.

Our Full Review

The Fairmont Pacific Rim sits on Canada Place on the Coal Harbour waterfront downtown, across from Canada Place and the cruise terminal. Waterfront Station (Canada Line + SeaBus + SkyTrain) is a short walk. It's the best location in the city for anyone who wants both view and convenience, with easy walks to Stanley Park, Gastown and Robson shopping.

Rooms are modern and luxurious, nearly all with a balcony and floor-to-ceiling glass opening onto Burrard Inlet and the North Shore mountains — a view guests photograph endlessly. Fairmont-brand beds are plush and the bathrooms are marble. Honestly, the room view here is what you pay for.

Coal Harbour Vancouver

"Open the curtains on day one and fall silent — Burrard Inlet and the North Shore mountains are right there. This is what you pay for."

Fairmont-level service is the main draw. Staff are attentive and the concierge handles anything, from Whistler tours to hot-restaurant reservations. Many reviews describe care 'beyond expectations,' especially for families and special occasions.

Coal Harbour Vancouver

The Willow Stream Spa is a highlight many rank best in the city, with a year-round rooftop pool overlooking the bay (heated in winter). The in-house Botanist has ranked among Canada's best restaurants, and the Lobby Lounge has a sushi bar locals genuinely frequent.

On value — a starting rate of around CAD 550 (฿14,850) a night is the city's highest. If you'll be out all day and only sleep here, a mid-range hotel nearby may serve you better. But if this is a special occasion or a honeymoon, or you value the best view and service, it's worth every dollar.

Coal Harbour Vancouver

Worth knowing: bay-view rooms cost noticeably more than city-view, and in summer and Alaska cruise season rates spike hard. To get mountain views on a lighter budget, try shoulder season (May or September) when the weather's still good but prices drop.

In short, the Fairmont Pacific Rim sells the best view, service and waterfront location in the city. If the budget is there and you want a memorable Vancouver experience, choose it. If you're out exploring and watching spend, our list has better-value options.
